Randy Lavigne has been appointed to the position of Chapter Charitable Giving
Coordinator. He will be the contact person for all future charitable donations to the
community. He will also act as the primary investigator for emergency help to
individual veterans in need. If you have a community charity that deserves our help
or know of a disabled or deploy veteran that we can assist call Randy at (603) 303-
7100
The Chapter will be working with the Town of Deering, the NH State Government and
the National Battle Monuments Service to re-establish the New Hampshire
Memorial to the Immortal Four Chaplains located on the top of Wolfe Hill in
Deering. If you are interested in helping, call Melvin Murrel at (603) 464-3799
Carl Floyd, Rod Jawidzik, Ed Reed, Phil Maze and Mike King are working hard to find
a 12 passenger van for the chapter. They are also the committee that is working
on the acquisition and restoration of a Chapter 992 “Duce and a Half”. If you are
interested in helping call Carl at (603) 774-2615.
We need Volunteers to help the Gold Star Mothers this will be a new project for
us and we need a coordinator if interested call Randy Lavigne (603) 303-7100

7/3/10 - 7th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Boscawen, NH
Veteran’s Cemetery 1:30pm Rain or Shine – Join us to honor the men and women
who gave it all in Vietnam and to remember our POW/MIA’S – This is our wall in New

7/10/10 - Full Chapter Meeting and Elections 10:am -1: pm. Pot luck lunches -
please bring some food to share. Veterans Hospital Manchester 718 Smyth Rd
(Please remember to bring your voting form) NOTE – cool out on the donuts.
7/15 - The Matterhorn book discussion –Chichester Town Library 7:pm -8:
30pm. Moderated by Jimmy Pappas Vietnam Veteran and 992 Chapter member.
This book, The Matterhorn, is the feature recommended read by National VVA and
was featured in the Veteran magazine (May-June issue). Come out and share your
war experiences; its an open discussion. The Book is 40% off when purchased
through the library.
7/22 - 7/25/10 – The Stratham Fair (chapter booth set up) call Peter McAskill at
(603) 474-3093 to sign up to work a shift. We need your help and participation on
this, plus its big fun.
7/31/10- Full Chapter Breakfast and business meeting (Review of elections
and Stratham fair). Mo & Jo’s Restaurant 2175 Candia Rd Manchester 9:am (AVVA
members, wife’s and husband’s welcomed).
Volunteers Needed. We need volunteers to work at the Food Bank, they need
help with food sorting it also is a chance to see there entire operation and they do a
lot. If interested, call Melvin Murrel at (603) 464-3799
Chapter Store - In order to support our activities and the helping hand we extend to
others, Chapter 992 has begun a program of social entrepreneurship. Please visit

8/28 - 8/29/10 - Pease Air Show The Blue Angels (Chapter Booth set up ) over
200,000 people will attend, we need everyone to help on this, Please call Carl

9/11/10 - 7th Annual War Veterans Cookout 10am - 4pm
The Daniel K. Poling Chapter 992 cordially invites all veterans and family members to
our 7th Annual cookout on Patriot's Day, Saturday September 11th from 10am to
4pm. We will have plenty of food, really good music and games for the children.
We will also have a tours of an Alpaca farm and a Fish farming operation. Come out
and join the fun; bring a dish to share.
